Sticking around for spring break? Luckily, fun activities to explore just beyond your doorstep are plentiful. We've rounded up some of the most awesome special events on the calendar for your convenience.

SPLASH TIME @ AQUATIC CENTER | HOLLAND
Families can splash around the Splash Zone, featuring a triple spiral water slide, giant play structure, water cannons, fountains and other fun features.
BUTTERFLIES IN BLOOM @ MEIJER GARDENS | GRAND RAPIDS
Visit the largest temporary tropical butterfly exhibition in the country, with more than 7,000 gorgeous butterflies fluttering around the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory in Grand Rapids. Special activities take place in the children's garden, as well as spring break classes and workshops held throughout the week.
SPRING BREAK @ GRAND RAPIDS PUBLIC MUSEUM | GR
Explore the dinosaurs and toys, make special crafts, play jumbo games and catch a planetarium show during extended hours at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
JUNIOR ADVENTURE CLUB | HOLLAND
Field trips, sports, games and other fun activities are planned by the Holland Recreation team, giving kids the chance to get out of the house and hang out with friends.
SCAVENGER HUNT | MATTAWAN
Borrow a backpack, grab a list of questions and hit the trails of Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery to see if you can answer all the questions. Choose from three topics: wetlands, forests and Wolf Lake. Each scavenger hunt is self-guided and takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Free. Stroller/wheelchair friendly.
SPRING BREAK @ FOREVER CURIOUS | FENNVILLE
Forever Curious Children's Museum is open all spring break (Mon-Sat, 10 am-3 pm) with special activities each day centered around a theme, such as art, animals, science and theater. $5 per person; free for members.
SPRING BREAK FOR KIDS: THE MONSTER WHO ATE MY PEAS | GR
A kid-friendly ballet based on the beloved children's book, as well as costume dress-up, arts and crafts, and prizes before the show. Tickets are just $7 per person.
SPRING FLING @ CRITTER BARN | ZEELAND
Families can snuggle up to the newest baby animals born this spring at the Critter Barn, including ducklings, chicks, lambs, bunnies and kids. Free.
LITTLE EXPLORERS SPRING BREAK CAMP | HOLLAND
Little ones will look for bugs, listen to stories, create crafts, hike and play in mud at DeGraaf Nature Center. For kids ages 4-6. Registration required. $50 per child for all three day.
SPRING BREAK SPECIAL @ ALLEGAN EVENT | ALLEGAN
Get an all-day pass with unlimited, all-day access to Allegan Event's climbing walls, ropes course with zip lines and the quick-jump free-fall simulation.
OPENING NIGHT AT FOUR WINDS | APRIL 4| SOUTH BEND
The South Bend Cubs take on the Grand Rapids Whitecaps on opening day at Four Winds Field. Stay for the fabulous fireworks show after the game.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT @ SILVER BEACH CAROUSEL | ST JOSEPH
The Silver Beach Carousel is decked out for a Moana-inspired evening of family fun, with $1 rides and hourly drawing for a special prize. Games, coloring pages and snacks are available.
EDIBLE BOOK FESTIVAL | APRIL 5 | KALAMAZOO
Kids and adults can enter a submission or simply go marvel at the mouthwatering literary masterpieces at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center.
COMMUNITY POW WOW | APRIL 6 | DOWAGIAC
The community is invited by the Pokagon Band Native Nations Youth Council to join the Spring Mini Pow Wow, with song and dance ahead of a delicious feast.
SARETT SPRING STAMPEDE | APRIL 6 | BENTON HARBOR
A unique 5K run/walk along Sarett's scenic nature trails to raise money for environmental educational programs. A kids' 1-mile fun run begins at 8:30 am and costs just $1.
FAIRY SCAVENGER HUNT | APRIL 6 | KALAMAZOO
Embark on a fairy garden adventure at Wenke Greenhouses and solve a series of garden fairy riddles to collect fairy garden prizes hidden throughout the greenhouse. Every child will receive a set of fairy wings and a wand. $20 per child.
