What's On This Weekend {*Halloween Edition*}: October 26-28

Who else is fueling up for a million Halloween festivities this weekend? If you're not, go ahead and scroll through for some candy and costume filled ways to spend your weekend. There are so many and they all sound like a fabulous time.

  • Discover the magic of Victorian Hallowe’en traditions and superstitions this fall at Holland's Cappon House, with fortune telling, parlor games, treats and more

  • Come in costume, enjoy Halloween treats and prepare to be amazed by the family-friendly Halloween Spooktacular Magic Show in Paw Paw (through Sunday)

  • Watch a mesmerizing story unfold on stage about a young boy's mischievous plan to get his older sister's trick or treating candy courtesy of the Grand Rapids Ballet (through Sunday)

  • Get your glow on in downtown Douglas with tons of glow-in-the-dark activities for kids, music, food, drinks and more

  • Wander along the trails at Van Raalte Farm in Holland and discover wild creatures, fun activities and treats, then enjoy cider, cookies and a campfire


  • Celebrate Halloween with adorable, adoptable critters from Berrien County Animal Control, including a nature walk, cookie decorating, coloring, and a trunk or treat

  • Take a a Halloween train ride through Eden Springs Park at House of David in Benton Harbor (through Sunday)

  • Spend the morning trick or treating in downtown Holland at participating stores

  • Bring the fam to Binder Park Zoo for unlimited train, carousel and hay rides, as well as trick or treating, wild science, magic, puppet shows, music and more (through Sunday)

  • Catch the Halloween family and pet parade in Saugatuck, a fun local tradition with hot cocoa and cookies, costume contests and candy

  • Explore the un-haunted paved trails of West Olive's nature center, learn about outdoor creatures and partake in donuts, cider and kid-geared activities

  • Stop by the Holland Museum for trick or treating in the exhibits, flashlight tours, fun games and spooky crafts

  • Don your costumes and wander down the scenic trails of the Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland collecting candy and playing games

  • Head down the rabbit hole for a short, whimsical adventure with Alice in Wonderland at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor (costumes welcome)


  • Take a hike to catch the gorgeous fall colors around Southwest Michigan

  • Make your way through a corn maze and pick up some pumpkins at a local patch
