What's On This Weekend *Memorial Day!*: May 25-28
This Memorial Day weekend is bookended with poignant reminders of what the holiday is all about, and the small town parades make for a simple way to introduce the topic to young children. There's also the Lost Boat Ceremony at USS Silversides in Muskegon, which honors the dozens lost in World War II.
Aside from the holiday processions and ceremonies, the weekend is filled with maritime merriment in the form of the weekend-long, jam-packed Mermaid MegaFest in South Haven, as well as the Michigan Maritime Museum's Blessing of the Fleet, the Grand Haven Musical Fountain's Star Wars Night and zip lining across the river in Allegan.
Or just grab a towel and head to your nearest beach. The weather promises to be spectacularly summer-like. Wishing you all a safe, happy Memorial Weekend.
