What's On This Weekend: Apr 27-29

Who else is counting down the days until summer break? We have been struggling to get out of bed every morning, even with the earlier sunrises, and the only light on the horizon is an end to the bleary-eyed Monday through Friday routine in exchange for lazy mornings on the beach. Soon enough!

But until then, it's shaping up to be a bustling spring filled with all sorts of fantastic adventures and we will be filling up our weekends with fun.

  • Visit the Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids for the country's largest indoor display of tropical butterflies

  • Plant a sapling to mark Arbor Day at Fernwood Botanical Garden in Niles

  • Bring a non-perishable food item for a free pass (one per person) to Nelis' Dutch Village

  • Meet the Beauty Princess, take photos and get some popcorn at a free event at the Poppin Huis in Holland

  • Grab some fabric and sparkly materials to DIY a mermaid tail and top at the South Haven Center for the Arts ahead of next month's Mermaid MegaFest


  • Run from Holland's Centennial Park to Windmill Island Gardens and back to raise money and awareness for mental health

  • Join an enchanted afternoon story time with Cinderella at Between the Covers bookstore in Holland

  • Peruse artist panels, collectible toys, the "artist alley" and cosplay contest at the Holland DoubleTree
