This weekend is all about paying homage to this beautiful spinning sphere on which we live. So take a few minutes -- or the whole weekend -- to connect with nature and celebrate the gloriously diverse landscapes of Southwest Michigan.

  • Celebrate the season opening of Earl's Farm Market in Fennville with BOGO ice cream, local fire trucks and more

  • Catch the tropical butterflies (not literally!) at the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids before they leave town at the end of the month




  • Partake in guided hikes, kids' crafts, creature encounters and other activities at the Kalamazoo Nature Center's Earth Day Celebration 

  • Make prints from nature in The Studio in Holland

  • Interact with life-like dinosaurs during a mesmerizing theatrical performance by Erth's Dinosaur Zoo Live! in St Joe

  • Discover fascinating facts about owls at the Curious Kids Museum's Super Saturday Family Fun

  • Celebrate the planet with music, art, speakers, food, drink, games and crafts at the Kalamazoo Earth Day

  • Get the creative juices flowing with a nature-based writing workshop featuring guided hikes, field notebooks, short stories and poetry at the Kalamazoo Nature Center

  • Create a miniature garden in a fun, creative afternoon at Fernwood Botanical Garden in Niles 




  • Join the Sarett Young Adult Outdoor Adventure Club for a geocache scavenger hunt using GPS units to find hidden treasures along the trails in Benton Harbor
