What's On This Weekend: Feb 24-26

February 24, 2017

Just a little personal note: I recently took over running the kids' museum in Fennville, which is a really wonderful, non-profit gem if I do say so myself :) I will not promote it any more or less than other fabulous happenings in the area. But feel free to stop in and see us!

The theme of the weekend appears to be nature, with myriad ways to get in touch with the wilder side of Southwest Michigan.

  • Learn how to tap maple trees to collect sap and set up an outdoor kitchen to make maple syrup during a family-friendly outing at the Kalamazoo Nature Center

  • Sign up for an introduction to hip hop, musical theater and lyrical dance programs at the YMCA in St Joe

  • Assemble a birdhouse for bluebirds and wrens and other feathered friends at DeGraaf Nature Center in Holland

  • Lace up your roller skates for an afternoon of free, old-school entertainment at the Park Township Community Center in Holland

  • Make a cardboard car before the "drive-in" movie at the Forever Curious Children's Museum in Fennville

  • Uncover fascinating facts about Michigan’s most majestic trees at Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor

  • Learn all about the moon on a special night event at West Olive's Hemlock Crossing

  • Join a Kalamazoo Nature Center naturalist to discover which critters hibernate during Michigan winters and meet some animals up close

Check out the Southwest Michigan Kids calendar for all the awesome details.
