Halloween Is A-Comin'! Don't Miss These Spooky Shenanigans

Give your costumes a vigorous workout this year with oodles of entrancing Halloween happenings for families across Southwest Michigan.

 

 

Barney's Halloween Party | Oct 19

You're invited to a party with the big purple dinosaur at the Curious Kids' Museum in St Joseph. Listen to stories and make a scarecrow to take home. 1-3 pm.

 

Kalamadoodle Costume Party @ Bell's | Oct 19

A festive, family-friendly evening out at Bell's Eccentric Cafe, with Halloween costumes, drinks, doodles and more. 6:30-8:30 pm.
 

Treats & Trails | Oct 21-22 

The Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland hosts a slew of Halloween activities, including barrel rides, kids' games, trick or treating, live animal encounters and s'mores. Costumes encouraged. $5 per car. 5-8 pm.

 

Halloween Costume Party | Oct 22

Enjoy games, crafts, snacks, a small parade and costume contests at the South Haven Memorial Library. 11 am-12:30 pm.

 

Pumpkin Carving | Oct 22

Upscale Mercantile hosts a live pumpkin carving extravaganza on Center Street in downtown Douglas. 12-2 pm.

 

Trunk-a-Palooza at the YMCA | Oct 22

A fun afternoon of trick or treating, inflatables, crafts, face painting, snacks and more for the whole family. Free. 3-5:30 pm.

 

Zom-Beach Obstacle Course| Oct 22

Pumpkin bowling, donut bobbing, a monster toss, zombie makeup, caramel apples and obstacle courses for kids and adults, Headless Horseman/zombie stroll and more await all ages in South Haven. 2-9 pm.


Monster Mash | Oct 22

Head to Schrier Park in Portage for an evening of chilling good fun, including trick or treating, face painting, a hayride, magic show, costume contest, cotton candy, popcorn and more. 5-8 pm.

 

Kids' Night Out TRAC or Treat | Oct 22

Drop the littles off at the HealthTRAC in Three Rivers for a night of Halloween fun. Costumes encouraged. For ages 2-15. $15/child. 5-9 pm.

 

Fernwood's Halloween for Dogs | Oct 22

Families and their four-legged friends are invited to the Fernwood Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve in Niles for a special, spooky celebration. 6-8 pm.

 

Halloween Train Rides | Oct 22-23

A thrilling ride through the Eden Springs Park at House of David in Benton Harbor. $3 per ride. 5-9 pm.


Boo On Your Bike | Oct 23

Take a costumed ride and pick up plenty of treats along the Kal-Haven Trail in South Haven. 12-3 pm.

 

Pumpkin Carving Party | Oct 24

New Holland Brewing hosts an evening of fall fun on the back patio. All supplies provided. Free. 5:30-8 pm.

 

Pumpkin Carving Party | Oct 26

Carve a pumpkin to go on display at the Kalamazoo Nature Center's Creatures of the Night event on October 29. All materials supplied. 5-7 pm.

 

SCAREousel | Oct 27

The Silver Beach Carousel is all dressed up for Halloween. Games, snacks and a magic show are on tap, and anyone in costume gets free carousel rides. 4-8:30 pm.

 

Trick or Treat at GRCM | Oct 27

Kids decorate treat bags, create spooky art projects, experiment with monster slime and trick or treat through the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. $1.75/person. 5-8 pm.

 

Halloween at Sarett Nature Center | Oct 28

Walk the lighted trails and discover wild creatures and fun activities along the way. Older kids can attempt the dark trail. Snacks and crafts will available indoors. BYO flashlight. $5/person.

 

Glow in the Park | Oct 28

"Anything that glows goes!" during this fantastic, family-friendly celebration at Beery Field in Douglas. 7-10 pm.

 

Trunk or Treat at VerHages | Oct 29

Candy and treats galore, a costume contest and trunk decoration contest contribute to the fun factor at VerHages Fruit Farm & Cider Mill in Kalamazoo. 6-8 pm.

 

Monsters at the Museum | Oct 29

The Holland Museum hosts trick-or-treating in the exhibits, flashlight tours of the Dutch Galleries, games and crafts. Free admission for kids in costume and accompanying adults. Bring a flashlight.

 

Trick or Treat | Oct 29

Dress up for a morning of trick-or-treating delights in downtown Holland. Participating merchants will have an orange balloon on their doors. 10 am-12 pm.

 

Pumpkin Hunt & Costume Contest | Oct 29

The lineup at Virtue Cider includes a kids' pumpkin hunt and costume contest for all ages (four-legged friends welcome too), as well as face painting, food, music, a photo booth and more. 11:30-5 pm.

 

Creatures of the Night: Tricks & Tales | Oct 29

Meet enchanted critters along the trail and enjoy a craft, music, snack and hot cider at Kalamazoo Nature Center. Rain or shine. $8/child. 4-7 pm.

 

Halloween Parade | Oct 29

Don't miss this family-friendly costume parade and contest through the streets of downtown Saugatuck. 4-5 pm.

 

Halloween Happening | Oct 29

Don your costume and head to Fernwood Botanical Garden for trick or treating in the gardens, creepy crafts, creatures and stories. 6:30-8:30 pm.

 

Halloween Parade & Trick or Treat | Oct 30

A full day of creepy, crawly delights in New Buffalo includes a costume contest, parade and trick or treat. 1-4:30 pm.

 

Howl-O-Ween: Dogtoberfest | Oct 30

Family festivities at North Pier Brewing includes trick or treating, a photo booth, food, craft beer and more. Dogs welcome. Proceeds benefit Healing Paws Therapy Dogs. 2:30-5:30 pm.

 

Halloween Crafts & Candy | Oct 31

Treat yourself to a spook-tacular time at the Fennville District Library, with crafts, candy and more. 10-2 pm.
