The blissfully long, lazy days of summer have arrived at last. However glorious, some of us might be struggling with the unstructured days and wondering how to fill the time. Enter summer camps. So many summer camps.

DAY CAMPS

 

Air Zoo Science Camp | Portage

Campers will learn all about aerospace science through tons of hands-on activities and interactive experiments. Ages 4+.

 

Bailey's Budding Naturalists | South Haven 

Children will experience the many wonders of nature through hands-on projects and activities. For ages 5-12.

 

Beach Day Camp @ Third Coast Surf Shop | New Buffalo & St Joseph Grand Rapids

Kids spend time at the beach learning how to surf, flying kites, swimming, building sand castles and other high-energy activities. For ages 7-12.

 

Beauty & The Beast Summer Ballet Camp | Grand Rapids

A fun, week-long camp teaches ballet fundamentals and sparks a passion for the creative art form. For ages 3+.

 

Binder Zoo Safari Day Camps | Battle Creek

This unique day camp provides kids with fun-filled animal adventures as they hike, learn, create and play throughout the zoo. For grades 1-7.

This summer session includes gymnastics, dance, team building games, prizes, crafts, scrapbooking and more. 

 

Forever Curious Children's Museum Summer Camp | Fennville

This day camp includes hands-on science experiments, art, games and private playtime in the museum. For ages 5+. 

 

Grand Rapids Public Museum Curious Camp | Grand Rapids

Kids can can use the sprawling museum as a learning lab and explore the wonders of science, history, culture and art. For ages 4-14.

 

Holland Arts Council Camps | Holland

Campers can learn and create one-of-a-kind works of art based on exciting themes like the Coral Reef and Wizard of Oz. For grades K-7.

 

Junior Sailing @ South Haven Yacht Club | South Haven

Get ready to learn the basics of sailing and have some nautical fun this summer. A family sailing class is available as well.

 

Krasl Art Center Youth Camps | St Joseph

Art explorations include painting, animation, theater, sculpting and printmaking in these dynamic creative camps. For ages 5+.

 

Michigan Maritime Museum STEM Camp | South Haven

Hands-on activities, lessons aboard the Friends Good Will tall ship, tours and a river cruise are part of this maritime-themed program. For grades 3-5.

 

Nature Explorers @ Sarett Nature Center | Benton Harbor

Explore the natural world with an exciting variety of classes and programs, learning all about bugs, reptiles, orienteering and more. For ages 4+.

 

Outdoor Discovery Center | Holland

Find out fascinating facts about nature and the outdoors with a variety of classes and programs. For ages 3+.

 

Saugatuck Center for the Arts Day Camps | Saugatuck

Campers will unleash their creativity through hands-on projects, yoga and other inspiring, adventurous practices. For ages 0-14.

 

Shoreline Dance Academy | South Haven

A short season of dance and movement, including tap, ballet and hip-hop jazz, as well as more specialized cheer and hula hoop cams. For ages 2+.

 

Summer 'N' Saddles Horse Camp | Bangor

Riding, horsemanship, crafts, safety lessons and other farm activities at Willow Tree Equestrian Center. Mom-daughter and preschooler-aged day camps also available. 

 

 

OVERNIGHT CAMPS

 

Camp Kidwell | Bloomingdale

Kids will explore the outdoors in a safe, fun environment at this camp set on 150 acres on Eagle Lake. Day camps available for ages 4-16 and overnight camps available for ages 7-16. Specialty camps include horses, STEAM and ropes.  

 

Camp Tanadoonah | Vandalia

Campers enjoy sports, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, nature hikes and other activities led by experienced counselors. For ages 5-16.

 

Pretty Lake Camp | Mattawan

Participants of this special, no-cost camp are given the chance to be outdoors, play, try new activities, learn to swim and develop self-esteem and independence. For grades 3+. 

 

Lake of the Woods/Greenwoods | Decatur

Campers unplug and learn such essential skills as including resilience, creativity, teamwork, independence, optimism and citizenship. For ages 6-18. 

 

Van Buren Youth Camp | Bloomingdale

Kids spend their days swimming, canoeing, dancing, exploring nature, doing arts and crafts, archery and more. Campfire skits and games are part of the fun. For ages 6-18.
